Types of Scholarships

The age old myth that to get a scholarship one has to be the next Albert Einstein has now been broken. Grades are no longer the only deciding factor when it comes to getting an intellectual one like art scholarships in today’s world; one needs to be able to show that they are the one who deserve to get the scholarship.

There are several categories of scholarships available out of which few are -:

Scholarships based on specific Needs – These are the scholarships that are offered to students with specific financial needs. The financial record of the students and their parents are the base of this scholarship. The university or college checks these records and decide whether one is eligible for the scholarship or not.

Scholarships based on Merit – These scholarships for high school seniors are given to students who excel in their academics, their grades, have outstanding artistic abilities, or display athletic and other abilities. A few factors that may accelerate the chances of receiving this type of grant are extracurricular activities and the community service that a student exhibits. This is the most common and widely available form of financial aid available to students across the globe.
